Craving lasagna but do not want to put the work into making it? Easy Ravioli Casserole is exactly that. When my husband requests lasagna and I really do not feel like spending half the day prepping and baking it, I make this recipe. There are lots of different ways to change up this recipe. I have listed some options under the variations section at the bottom. When we make this recipe, we always add ground beef. We love to serve a side salad and some garlic bread with this meal.
Ingredients for Easy Ravioli Casserole
- 1 lb ground beef (optional)
- 1 -2 jars spaghetti sauce
- One 25 oz package frozen cheese-filled raviolis
- One 8 oz package mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
Utensils Needed
Directions for Easy Ravioli Casserole
Prep Time: 15 minutes / Cook Time: 50 – 60 minutes
- Betty Crocker
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- If making a meat sauce, brown beef in saute pan over medium high heat. (If you are not adding meat, skip to step 5).
- Once meat is browned, drain if needed, then add sauce.
- In a greased 9 x 13 pan, add a layer of sauce about 1/3, then cheese about 1/3, and then the raviolis 5 x 4, as shown in picture below.
- Repeat this step again.
- Then top with rest of sauce and remaining cheese.
- Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.
- Place foil on top, bake for 40 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake an additional 10 – 15 minutes.
- Let stand for 10 minutes then serve.
Variations
- You could use Italian sausage in place of ground beef or half and half.
- I like to layer ours. I do a layer of spaghetti sauce, a little mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, then add the raviolis. Then a layer of spaghetti sauce, cheese and the next layer of raviolis. Then I top with the rest of sauce and a good layer of cheese.
- You could use any type of filled ravioli. The cheese ravioli keeps it as a vegetarian option.
- We like ours extra saucy and extra cheesy. So we use two jars of sauce and closer to two bags of cheese(16oz).
- You can use different cheeses, I sometimes grab the three cheese pizza mix.
- Easily add vegetables, peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes.
- Swap out the spaghetti sauce for alfredo sauce and do a cheese and spinach filled ravioli.
