Christmas Oreo Balls are one of my favorite cookies. Really you can make these any time of the year for any occasion, but they are fun to add to a cookie plate as most people enjoy these. Overall Oreo balls are a super simple cookie to make and require no baking, but there are a lot of steps to the process to complete these. I did run into the issue of my chocolate drizzle drying before I got my sprinkles on, I could only do about two before I added the sprinkles. I tried 4 at a time and it dried somewhat so the sprinkles would not stick. This would be a fun cookie to make with kids as they can help form the ball and also add the sprinkles as you dip the ball in the chocolate. Then it will not have time to dry.

Directions for Christmas Oreo Balls
Prep Time: 40 minutes / Decorating Time: 20 – 30 minutes
- Hoosier Homemade
- Line your cookie sheet or baking sheet with parchment paper or tin foil.
- In your medium sized mixing bowl, place the cream cheese.
- Place Oreo cookies in food processor and pulse until crumbled.
- Dump Oreos into bowl with cream cheese, mix well with spatula.
- Next grab small amounts of Oreo mixture and roll into balls with hands, place on cookie sheet.
- Chill Oreo balls in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- While Oreos chill, work on getting your white chocolate and chocolate melted.
- Place white chocolate in microwave safe bowl. Place in the microwave for 1 minute. Take out and stir with spatula. Place back in microwave for 30 seconds at a time. Take out and stir. Repeat until completely smooth.
- Once chocolate is prepared, using a fork, dip oreo balls into chocolate then tap off excess chocolate. Place back onto cookie sheet to dry.
- Place sprinkles on chocolate before it dries.
- If you are opting to do a chocolate drizzle, let Oreo balls dry.
- Once all the Oreo balls are dipped and dried. You will need to melt the candy melts.
- Place a small handful into a Ziploc bag. Microwave for 10 seconds at a time until melted.
- Push all the chocolate in the bag to one tip. Cut off the smallest amount of the corner of the bag, does not take much. You now have a piping bag for drizzle.
- Now drizzle your colored chocolate over the Oreo ball.
- If you are adding sprinkles to the drizzle, do it before it dries.
- Place Oreo balls back in the fridge until you are ready to serve, enjoy!
Variations
- Where I live, almond bark only comes in one size of package. I started with four squares each melted of white chocolate and chocolate.
- My colored candy melts also only come in one size. I melted a little less than a quarter of the bag to do the drizzle.
- You can easily make these for any occasion throughout the year. I know where I am you can buy the candy melts in every color of the rainbow plus more. And you can always buy sprinkles for about any holiday or occasion out there.
- For Christmas I thought the white chocolate looked better for all the colors so I only did that color.
- If you do not have a food processor, you can just crush the Oreos in a bag. Make sure to get them to a crumb size. If you have large chunks, it will be harder to form into balls.
