M&M Pretzel Hugs Plated

M&M Pretzel Hugs are a great Christmas cookie to make. They are very simple, kids love to make them, and they are bite size – perfect for toddlers. These are the perfect cookie tray cookie as they are small to start with and usually stack nicely. I can remember making these as a kid. We always raced to see who could unwrap the most hugs. We also got to snack on pretzels and extra M&Ms, hope you enjoy!

Ingredients for M&M Pretzel Hugs

  • Bag pretzel snaps – square pretels
  • 1 bag Hershey hugs
  • 1 bag red and green M&M’s

Utensils Needed

Directions for M&M Pretzel Hugs

Prep Time: 30 minutes / Cook Time: 4 minutes / Cool Time: 15 – 30 minutes

  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees.
  2. Line your cookie sheet with tin foil.
  3. Place about 50 pretzels on the tin foil.
  4. Now, unwrap all the hugs and place one hug on each pretzel.
  5. Once all the hugs are on the pretzels, place them in the oven for about 4 minutes. (Hugs should not be completely melted, just softened, they get kind of shiny when they are ready).
  6. As soon as you take the pretzels out, place a M&M in the middle of the hug and push down a bit.
  7. Repeat to all pretzels.
  8. Now, let them dry. You can place in the fridge or outside to speed up the process, or leave them on the counter. Enjoy!

Variations

  • You can use any type of Hershey kisses, as long as it does not have like a liquid inside.
  • Depending on the holiday, you can change the color of M&M’s used.
  • Growing up we used the circle pretzels, either will work.
