Baked Ritz Cracker Chicken is a super easy recipe and a healthier alternative to fried chicken. There are so many different routes you could take on this recipe which I will give you some of those ideas at the bottom under variations. I am always looking for chicken recipes as my husband is not a fan of chicken and chicken is typically a healthier meal. When I first made this recipe, he loved it! Even better, it’s a healthier option for chicken nuggets for your kids! You can serve about any side with this. You could even roast some vegetables on the same pan for a super easy meal all around.
Ingredients for Baked Ritz Cracker Chicken
- 1 lb raw boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into strips
- 2/3 cup honey mustard
- 1 sleeve Ritz crackers, crushed
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Utensils Needed
- Scissors or knife for cutting chicken
- Two shallow baking dishes or plates with a lip
- Baking sheet
- Measuring cups
Directions for Baked Ritz Cracker Chicken
Prep Time: 15 – 20 minutes / Cook Time: 25 – 35 minutes

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Spray a cooking sheet with cooking spray. Add tin foil for easy clean up!
- In the two shallow baking dishes, place the mustard in one and crushed Ritz crackers in the other.
- Cut the chicken breasts into strips and season with salt and pepper.
- Next, dip the chicken into the mustard then the crushed Ritz crackers.
- Once the chicken is coated, place on baking sheet.
- After all the chicken is coated, place in the over for 25 minutes. Check the chicken to make sure it is cooked thoroughly. Then serve.
Variations
- Replace crackers with Cheez It.
- For a healthier option, use whole wheat or whole grain crackers.
- Replace crackers with French’s crispy fried onions.
- Replace crackers with potato chips, BBQ chips, Doritos, etc.
- Swap out the honey mustard (it is sweet) with regular mustard.
- For a thinner crust, coat chicken in egg. (Not as much bread crumbs will stick)
- Looking for extra flavor, add some seasoning when adding salt and pepper to chicken. Garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, etc.
