Chicken Parm Plated

This Oven Baked Chicken Parmesan recipe I got from a co-worker who does not want their name shared. I recently got this recipe and it right away made it into my recipe box. I had never had chicken Parmesan until I was in my 20’s. Surprisingly, it’s a meal my mom never did make and I always thought it was a time consuming recipe. Honestly, chicken with spaghetti sauce never sounded good to me. When I met my husband I found out one of his favorite meals is Chicken Parmesan. So I was then on the hunt for a good recipe. When my co-worker shared this recipe, I could not get over how good it was for how easy it is to make. This is a great meal you can easily double to feed a group or keep it small to feed one or two people. You can serve this with pasta and a side salad.

Directions for Oven Baked Chicken Parmesan

Prep Time: 15 minutes / Cook Time: 30 – 35 minutes

  1. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In your shallow bowl, crack your egg and mix.
  3. Next, on your plate, add the Italian bread crumbs, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix with hands.
  4. Once you have your chicken cut (I use my kitchen scissors), coat in egg, then bread crumb mixture.
  5. Then, place the chicken in the baking dish.
  6. Bake, uncovered, for 20 minutes.
  7. Pull chicken out. Pour sauce over chicken, then add cheese.
  8. Bake for an additional 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
  9. Serve with Pasta.

Variations

  • Substitute Italian bread crumbs for whole wheat bread crumbs, add 1/2 – 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning.
  • Use whole wheat, veggie noodles, or zoodles.
  • I actually eat a side of cottage cheese with this recipe and no noodles.
  • Serve chicken on a hoagie bun and make a sandwich with it.
  • To make this dairy-free, leave out the cheese or use dairy-free cheese.
