M&M Pretzel Hugs are a great Christmas cookie to make. They are very simple, kids love to make them, and they are bite size – perfect for toddlers. These are the perfect cookie tray cookie as they are small to start with and usually stack nicely. I can remember making these as a kid. We always raced to see who could unwrap the most hugs. We also got to snack on pretzels and extra M&Ms, hope you enjoy!
Ingredients for M&M Pretzel Hugs
- Bag pretzel snaps – square pretels
- 1 bag Hershey hugs
- 1 bag red and green M&M’s
Utensils Needed
- Cookie sheet or baking sheet
- Parchment paper or tin foil
Directions for M&M Pretzel Hugs
Prep Time: 30 minutes / Cook Time: 4 minutes / Cool Time: 15 – 30 minutes
- Preheat oven to 200 degrees.
- Line your cookie sheet with tin foil.
- Place about 50 pretzels on the tin foil.
- Now, unwrap all the hugs and place one hug on each pretzel.
- Once all the hugs are on the pretzels, place them in the oven for about 4 minutes. (Hugs should not be completely melted, just softened, they get kind of shiny when they are ready).
- As soon as you take the pretzels out, place a M&M in the middle of the hug and push down a bit.
- Repeat to all pretzels.
- Now, let them dry. You can place in the fridge or outside to speed up the process, or leave them on the counter. Enjoy!

Variations
- You can use any type of Hershey kisses, as long as it does not have like a liquid inside.
- Depending on the holiday, you can change the color of M&M’s used.
- Growing up we used the circle pretzels, either will work.
