Mom’s Pound Cake, I love this recipe! I love pound cake, I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and even snack time. I am one of those people that really like the sweet breads, pound cake, Kringla, Spitz cookies. This pound cake recipe is great plain, add some butter or jam. I love to use it with making strawberry short cake as well. I hope you all enjoy this pound cake as much as I do.

Ingredients for Mom’s Pound Cake

  • 2 cups butter, softened
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 large eggs
  • 4 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla

Directions for Mom’s Pound Cake

Prep Time: 15 minutes / Cook Time: 1 hour and 40 minutes – 2 hours

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  2. Grab your bundt pan and grease with butter WELL. Then sprinkle with flour, set aside.
  3. In your mixer add the softened butter.
  4. Gradually add the sugar, beat 5 – 7 minutes.
  5. Add eggs, one at a time.
  6. Turn the mixer on low. Add your flour and milk. Alternate with adding a little of each beginning and ending with flour.
  7. STIR in vanilla.
  8. Dump batter into bundt cake pan, my pan did not fit all of the better. You should only fill the pan 3/4s of the way.
  9. Place in oven and bake until a toothpick comes out clean.

Variations

  • My oven takes longer on everything, so mine took just over 2 hours to bake.
  • Do not over mix this batter.
