Pork Chops with Cream Sauce is a solid Pinterest recipe, but I will be adding more seasonings to it the next time I make it. The sauce was a bit bland to my liking, but that can easily be fixed. This last year when we got our pig from the meat locker, all the pork chops were cut to maybe a quarter inch thick, they are very thin. I really like a nice thick pork chop, 1 inch or more for thickness. My normal way of cooking the pork chops would dry these thin ones out. So I was on the hunt for a good recipe that calls for thin pork chops. This recipe is where I landed. I thought adding a sauce would really up the game of thin cut pork chops. Next time I make this, I will serve with a wild rice so it can absorb some of the sauce.

Ingredients for Pork Chops with Cream Sauce

  • 6 – 8 pork loin chops, thin
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Cream Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 – 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 and 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 -3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Utensils Needed

Directions for Pork Chops with Cream Sauce

  1. Craft Beering – Pork Chops
  2. On a plate, mix flour, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dredge pork chops in flour mixture, shake off excess. Place on a clean plate.
  4. Heat a heavy bottom pan over medium – high heat with 1 tablespoon of butter and olive oil.
  5. Sear 3 – 4 pork chops at a time for about 1 minute on each side, should be golden brown. Place on clean plate.
  6. Repeat with the rest of the butter, olive oil, and pork chops.
  7. Set aside the pork chops.
  8. Craft Beering – I used a different cream sauce
  9. Lower the heat for the pan to medium. Add in the olive oil for the sauce.
  10. Add garlic to pan, constantly moving around. Saute for 30 – 45 seconds. Should turn a nice golden brown and you can smell it.
  11. Add the heavy cream and stir. Bring to a simmer until sauce has thickened to your liking.
  12. Add the Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper to taste.
  13. Add the pork chops into the sauce. Simmer for 5 – 6 minutes, or until the pork chops are cooked through.

Variations

  • I used pre-grated Parmesan cheese and minced garlic out of a jar.
  • The sauce to me was a tad bland. I would add garlic powder, onion powder, and parsley. Italian seasoning may be good in it also.
  • I would also suggest adding seasoning to the flour mixture. Garlic powder would be my first choice.
  • Since you are cooking the pork chops in a sauce, I would highly suggest trimming the fat off the pork chops before cooking them.
