Restaurant Style Queso recipe is exactly what the name states. It is exactly like what they serve at most Mexican restaurants. I had been trying to replicate their queso, then came across this recipe on Pinterest. I have never tried making another queso recipe again, it is perfect! Every time I make this and we have people over, they are always asking for the recipe when they leave. Not only is queso great with chips, but when you make an abundance of it at home. You can add it to your taco, nachos, or fajitas at no extra cost. The left over queso heats up great, but I guarantee of you are making this recipe for a party, people will fight for the last bite.

Ingredients for Restaurant Style Queso

  • 1 oz pickled jalapeno juice
  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • Pinch of cumin (optional)

Variations

  • I leave out the cumin.
  • I leave out diced jalapenos but do add the juice still.
  • Here is Iowa, I have only been able to find the white american cheese at the deli counter. Some times they give it to me pre-sliced so I just throw one slice at a time in the pot. Some times they give me one large block, I just cut up with a knife then. I have no idea on the brand.
  • I accidentally bought hot jalapenos. I used the juice from the jar as that is all I had. It made the dip much spicer!

  • I use a rubber spatula to stir the queso while it cooks because it will easily burn on the bottom or sides if not completely scraped while stirring. Then a ladle for serving.
  • If I have a large group at my house, I leave the dip in the pan on the burner. My stove top has a warming pad so I put it on that. If you do not have that, you could leave on low. Just make sure to stir occasionally with either option.
  • You can also put dip in a crockpot once cooked to keep warm. Just make sure to stir occasionally.
